The Jomon period is one of the unique periods in the Japanese archipelago. In world history, it corresponds to the Mesolithic and Neolithic periods. The differences between the Paleolithic and the Jomon periods include the use of earthenware and bows and arrows, the development of polished stone tools, settlement and the spread of pit dwellings, and the formation of shell mounds. Japan's ancient Jomon culture is defined as the period from around 16,000 years ago (±100 years), when pottery first appeared, to around 3,000 to 2,400 years ago, when dry rice cultivation began. (circa 10,000 B.C. to circa 300 B.C.) The end of the period is generally considered to be about 3,000 years ago (various theories exist). After the Ice Age, the climate warmed and the Japanese archipelago was formed. The geological age of the Japanese archipelago shows that it developed from the end of the Pleistocene to the Holocene due to the major changes in the natural environment, and although there are large regional differences in the end of the period, it was triggered by the appearance of the Yayoi culture, which is characterized by regular paddy rice cultivation and the use of metal tools. There is much debate about the age of this period, which ranges from a few centuries BC to the 10th century BC. The Jomon period refers to the culture of the people who hunted, gathered, fished, and cultivated during this period, living off a variety of plants and animals, as well as earthenware and stone tools. The Jomon pottery of Japan is extremely old, even by world standards. Earthenware not only made it possible to boil food and remove astringent taste, but also made it possible to preserve food by sealing it. The Jomon earthenware, from which the Jomon period gets its name, is characterized by its design. Initially, they were characterized by designs on the surface of the vessel (claw-shaped patterns) that are created by piercing, pressing, and picking out using beans, human claws and various tools. Later, knurled sticks or sticks wrapped with thread were rolled across the surface of the pottery to create a pattern that covered the entire piece. The name "Jomon" was derived from this rope design.

Explore the world of dining experiences with our 'At restaurant/飲食店にて' blog. Discover unique insights and tips for your next meal out. You want to be able to smoothly order and communicate your requests to waiters and waitresses at restaurants in Japan. Here are some phrases that you can use conveniently in Japanese restaurants. 1) Say "Sumimasen" when you enter a restaurant "Sumimasen" is not only an apology but also a kind of greeting. In general, when you enter a restaurant in Japan, you will be escorted to your seat by the waiter at the entrance. If the waiter is not at the entrance, you can say, "Sumimasen (like "excuse me but it has a part of greeting), can you show me to my seat? and the waiter/waitress will come to you. "Sumimasen" is a polite expression and can be used in any place. Incidentally, "Sumimasen" is also used when specifying a seat. ・Sumimasen, I'd like a non-smoking seat (smoking seat), please." ・Sumimasen, but I'd like a window seat. ・Sumimasen, but I'd like a seat (high chair, etc.) for my child. Restaurants' greetings: "Irasshai", "Irasshai-mase". When greeting customers at a restaurant, such as a sushi restaurant or a soba noodle shop/stand, they should cheerfully say, "Irasshai! in restaurants. In restaurants, customers are greeted with a more relaxed "Irasshaimase". The atmosphere of welcoming customers differs depending on the type of restaurant, so it's fun to get a feel for it when you come to Japan. 2) Tell the number of people. Explore the Kofun Period with our blog! Dive into the history of ancient Japan and discover fascinating insights into the Kofun Period. Visit now! 【Kofun Period】 The Kofun period is the second major archaeological period after the Jomon and Yayoi periods. The "Yamato period," which represents roughly the same period, is a classification of the period of written offerings according to the Bihonshoki and Kojiki. The Kofun period spans from the second half of the third century to the seventh century. This was the dawn of a centralized system that ruled over powerful clans in various parts of the country, and large burial mounds, such as those of the anterior and posterior circles, were created by those in power. This is the era in which large burial mounds, such as those of the anterior and posterior circles, were created by the powerful. These powerful people are called "Gohzoku". In the latter half of the third century, a huge power structure was created by the powerful clans of the Kinki region, which became the Yamato government. The following are some of the key changes that occurred during this period. 1) Emergence of Kofun (tombs of powerful families) 2. Rule of the Yamato kingship 3. Japanese expansion into the Korean Peninsula 4. Ingestion of continental culture and the arrival of people 1) Appearance of burial mounds (tombs of powerful families) When kings and powerful families died, large tombs called "kofun" were built. There are various types of burial mounds, such as round burial mounds, square burial mounds, and forward square and backward round burial mounds. Kofun tumuli were created by powerful families in various parts of Japan, and the period up to the end of the 6th century is known as the Kofun period. The surface of most tumuli is covered with stones, and clay figures of people, houses, and horses are placed on the surface. Inside, stone chambers and coffins containing the deceased were filled with tools for festivals, such as bronze mirrors, jade, and swords, as well as mantles, farming tools, and harnesses. At that time, people believed in gods such as the sun gods and nature gods to protect their families, and pictures of animals that were considered to be gods were painted inside the tombs. 2) The rule of the Yamato kingship The Yamato kingship is said to have begun in the 3rd century, during the Kofun period. This is the political power and organization that was established by a coalition of several powerful clans. The Yamato kingship did not establish a full-fledged ruling system until around the 5th century, and the core of this system was the clan system. The clan surname system was prepared by the Ookimi (later emperor) or the "Kimi", who was at the top of the kingdom, in order to incorporate the powerful families of various regions into the Yamato ruling system. The current system is based on the family name system. The "surname" as a family name that we use today is also different from the surname and the family name of the Yamato regime. The "clan" was the name of the group of people who were allowed to own private property and land, and the "surname" was the name of the emperor after the king. The "surname" was a title given to the clan by the later emperor, Tenno. The Yamato kingship was headed by a great sovereign, and in order to incorporate the powerful families of various regions into the Yamato kingship's ruling system, the clan and surname system were used as the political status, occupation, and title. In order to incorporate them into the country's political system, the clan and surname system were made a political status and occupational status, and the political system was developed to establish a system to control the country. 3) Japanese expansion into the Korean Peninsula In the 4th century, the Yamato kingship expanded into the Korean peninsula. At the time, the struggle for power between the three kingdoms of Koguryo, Baekje, and Silla was raging on the Korean peninsula. In the midst of this, Baekje, which had been invaded by Koguryo, formed an alliance with the Yamato kingship to fight against Koguryo. 4) Ingestion of continental culture and the arrival of people from the continent As a result of the exchange with the Korean peninsula, the number of people moving to Japan from the peninsula increased. They were called "Toraijin" and introduced farming techniques, tools, Sueki earthenware, and silk weaving techniques. At the same time, they introduced Chinese characters, Confucian studies, and other academic disciplines, and by the middle of the sixth century, they introduced Buddhism, which played an important role in Japanese culture. ContentsTop History Top

Unearth the rich past of Japan with our insights into 弥生時代の歴史 解説. 【Yayoi Period】 The Yayoi period is the name given to the period from the 10th century BC to the middle of the 3rd century AD. After the Jomon period with its collecting economy, the Yayoi period was an era of a productive economy based mainly on rice farming. The name "Yayoi" comes from the discovery of earthenware found in a shell mound in Yayoi, Bunkyo-ku, present-day Tokyo, in 1884, which came to be known as the Yayoi earthenware. Later, it was discovered that the Yayoi period pottery was accompanied by rice, or paddy rice farming technology system. New technologies and cultures such as paddy rice cultivation, metal utensils, and textiles were introduced from the Chinese continent and the Korean peninsula, and the lifestyle of food, clothing, and shelter changed from the hunting and gathering Jomon period. This led to the idea that the Yayoi period was an agrarian society based on food production through paddy rice farming, and that it should be distinguished from Jomon period (a hunter-gatherer society) in this respect. In addition, people began to convert lowlands and wetlands into rice paddies and to build high-floor warehouses in addition to pit houses for housing in order to grow rice. People's lifestyles changed drastically around this time. Since rice cultivation required water-drawing techniques and group work, a leader to govern the group became necessary. This person governed and ruled the village. As a result, moat encircling settlements were formed, surrounded by fences and moats. Powerful villages expanded their power by subjugating the surrounding villages, and small countries began to form. Sakitama Kofun From Saitama Pref.

The maximum number of 10 and 12 is 60, which is the maximum number of cycles. Simple Phrase Top
